Lot 89 Colt New Service .38 Spl #339704
Vintage large frame double action service revolver chambered for .38 Spl, manufactured in Hartford, CT circa 1936. Features blued finish, 6" tapered barrel with two-line address, blade front sight, square notched rear sight, smooth trigger, knurled hammer spur, fluted swing out six-shot cylinder, non-shrouded ejector rod, large square butt frame without lanyard loop (No sign of ever having one), and two-piece faux stag grips with silver 'Rampant Colt' medallions. Markings are crisp including the Rampant Colt on left side of frame. "NEW SERVICE 38 SPECIAL." on the left barrel. The bore is excellent/bright, blue is about 80% with holster wear on the barrel, handling wear on the backstrap, minor edge wear, scratches, action is smooth with tight lock-up and the grips are very good
